McCarren & Co. is the oldest traditional pig slaughtering and pig curing company in Ireland. The company was first incorporated in the 1920's, but the family have been involved in the bacon curing business since 1860. This privately owned business, whose principal activity is the slaughter and processing of pigs, is based in the town of Cavan, Ireland, the heartland of the Irish Pig Rearing Industry.

McCarren & Co. is one of the few remaining companies who both slaughter and cut into primals all under one roof, processing approximately 4000 to 5000 pigs per week. We specialise in breaking into bone-in/bone-less primals, pork cuts, and fresh & cured meats. We supply a wide range of components to the market place which are tailored to meet the individual customer requirements, producing a wide range of fresh, cured, and cooked products for Secondary Producers and Food Service Suppliers both at home and abroad.

All our pigs are sourced locally and are guaranteed free of antibiotics. We also administer and manage a full traceability system for all our products.
